Morgan got that nod as she has been able to shake off an ankle problem that has kept her stuck on the sidelines for over a month. With full fitness being recovered, the 34-year-old stepped off the bench for the Wave in their NWSL clash with Angel City FC in Los Angeles.

Morgan was given 27 minutes in that contest, which ended in a goalless draw. She is delighted to be back out on the field, with an important couple of months approaching at domestic and international level – which is allowing the legendary forward to “regroup and refocus”.
WHAT NEXT?
Alongside her club commitments, Morgan will be hoping to figure in friendly dates with South Korea in early June as Hayes opens her reign as USWNT coach – with the Olympic Games in Paris due to get underway on July 24.
