Aston Villa fell further behind the playoff hopefuls on Saturday, as a red-hot Hull City forced Dean Smith’s side to settle for a point at Villa Park.

Aston Villa played out a thrilling draw with Hull on Saturday, and there were plenty of noteworthy performances.

The Tigers, who had won six league games in a row prior to kick-off, shot out to a 2-0 lead courtesy of wing wonderkid Jarrod Bowen and Evandro, with Bowen once again one of the best players on the pitch.

James Chester got the hosts back in it just before half time though, and Tammy Abraham levelled the score at 2-2 just after the hour mark with his 17th Championship goal of the season. The 21 year-old was brilliant throughout the match.

While Smith will take a lot of encouragement from the second half fightback, he may be a little concerned by the form of goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic, who has now conceded eight goals in three games with the club.
