[ad_pod ]Safe to say that the Newcastle United fans were not pleased with the performance of captain Jamaal Lascelles against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.Lascelles has recently returned from injury to start Newcastle’s last two Premier League matches at the heart of the defence.However, the 25-year-old struggled to make his mark against Wolves, who secured all three points at St James’ Park courtesy of a late Matt Doherty effort.Ayoze Perez had cancelled out a Diogo Jota effort to leave the two teams on terms, but Wolves won it in the 94th minute.Lascelles did not cover himself in glory in the build-up to Wolves’ second, and the Newcastle fans have blasted his performance on social media.Indeed, many of the club’s supporters feel that the Englishman does not deserve to be in the starting XI, let alone wear the captain’s armband.A selection of the Twitter reaction from the frustrated fans can be seen below:
