Last week, the BBC reported that Aaron Ramsey is set to leave Arsenal as a free agent at the end of this season after the club withdrew their contract offer.

The long-serving Welshman’s departure will leave a sizeable hole in Unai Emery’s squad that will need to be filled as soon as possible. One place the Gunners could look for the ideal man to step into Ramsey’s shoes is Emery’s old club, PSG.

The Ligue 1 giants are currently facing a similar situation to Arsenal’s with one of their own midfielders. As things stand, PSG’s Adrien Rabiot will be available on a free transfer in the summer too.

The powerful 23-year-old is not a player in the same mould as Ramsey, but he would certainly be a suitable addition to the team at the Emirates Stadium. The Frenchman would add physicality, defensive awareness and a great deal of technical ability to the Gunners’ midfield contingent.
