West Ham supporters are no different, as one fan page on Twitter asked what people’s honest opinions are on Sam Allardyce.
The biggest response was, perhaps surprisingly, an overwhelmingly positive one towards the man who managed the Hammers between 2011 and 2015.
During his time as Hammers manager, the now-65-year-old was a unpopular figure, as is shown by Phil McNulty’s summary of how West Ham fans greeted him during his final game, as reported by the BBC.
He said: “West Ham United’s supporters made it clear what they felt of the unloved Allardyce as abuse rained down from the stands at St James’ Park as they lost to Newcastle United.”

However, it seems that time has seen fans’ feelings towards him soften, as he has now been showered with praise.
He got the club to the Premier League through the play-offs and also kept them in the top flight, before departing in the summer of 2015.
David Moyes is in danger of failing to repeat the latter part of that achievement, as West Ham currently sit above the relegation zone on goal difference alone.
This has led to some fans even claiming that they would rather have Allardyce in the London Stadium hot seat now than the Scotsman.
Meanwhile, FFC writers have given their verdicts on West Ham’s proposed transfer move.
